ASTM D198- Standard Test Methods of Static Tests of Lumber in Structural Sizes
Lumber (American English; used only in North America) or timber (used in the rest of the English speaking world) is a type of wood that has been processed into beams and planks, a stage in the process of wood production. Lumber is mainly used for structural purposes but has many other uses as well.
These test methods cover the evaluation of lumber and wood-based products in structural sizes by various testing procedures.
The test methods appear in the following order:
Flexture
Compression (Short Specimen)
Compression (Long Specimen)
Tension
Torsion
Shear Modulus
